Rainfall Expected Nationwide, Sudur Pashchim Faces Intense Rain

Kathmandu: The Meteorological Forecasting Division predicts cloudy skies across Nepal today with the likelihood of light to moderate rain in most areas. Heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is anticipated in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudur Pashchim Provinces, as well as a few places in Madesh Province.

Tonight's forecast suggests generally to mostly cloudy conditions nationwide, with the potential for light to moderate rain in many areas. The Division anticipates heavy to very heavy rain, again accompanied by thunder and lightning, in parts of Karnali and Sudur Pashchim, as well as a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces.

Furthermore, the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall is foreseen in one or two places in Sudur Pashchim Province.

The Kathmandu Valley has experienced rainfall since the morning. The current weather conditions are influenced by the axis of the monsoon trough situated northwards (near Nepal) from its average position.

Additionally, Nepal is impacted by a low pressure area encompassing the Uttar Pradesh and Bihar states of India.
